Recovery, with guardrails
A bounded exploration of AI-assisted backend recovery.
An illustrative local-testbed incident based on Backend Ops. The managed application stops while PostgreSQL stays available. Evidence is collected, safety checks approve an allowlisted application restart, and fresh deterministic health checks verify recovery. This is a bounded research system, not a demonstration of changes to a live service.
Illustrative incident · local research testbed · no live systems affected.
The situation.
An automated recovery is only useful if it knows what it is allowed to change—and checks whether that change actually helped.
My contribution.
I explored diagnosis, allowlisted recovery actions, safety gates and post-action verification in a controlled backend testbed.
What changed.
A research implementation of a constrained recovery loop. It is not represented as production-hardened autonomous infrastructure.
